While Hurricane Harvey may have passed, the damage has not. The community of Houston is continuing its efforts this Halloween through local festive fundraisers. Each of these events allows participants to celebrate the community and help with Harvey relief efforts.
Charities are offering fun events for all ages. If you are in the Halloween spirit there’s something for you! All of these events directly benefit Hurricane Harvey victims. This October help your neighbor through one of these local Halloween events.
The HITS Theatre is collecting donated costumes to open a costume shop for families impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Monetary donations will be accepted as well. Help them make this Halloween a little less spooky and a little more fun!

This year the Taste of Houston Festival will be donating all proceeds to JJ Watt’s Harvey Relief Fund. It is a family friendly event with activities for kids and adults. Guests will enjoy over 200 artists, crafters, boutiques, eateries, craft beer brewers, food trucks, petting zoo, inflatables and more!

A fun filled day of celebration and of #HoustonStrong mentality. 100 percent of proceeds will go the Greater Houston Community Foundation’s Harvey Relief Fund. Houston LEAD is hosting an inaugural fundraising event to celebrate life and give back to the community. The event will offer live music, fun games for all ages, pumpkin painting and carving, and local craft beer. Ticket prices include one adult ticket, one regular size pumpkin, one drink wristband, and one food ticket. This is a family friendly event and is suitable for all ages.

If you’re looking for a night out on the town then look no further. Carnival Freak Show is boasted as Houston’s largest Halloween party. All proceeds will go to the Fanatical Change Foundation. Guests will enjoy live music, numerous DJs, hor d’oeurves, photo booths, an antique auction, and more!

As you can imagine, the Houston Food Bank has been very busy since Hurricane Harvey. This is a great event to directly contribute and include the whole family. The event consists of a short volunteer shift followed by tasty treats, trivia, and a costume contest! The Harry Potter Halloween Feast is open to all children and adults ages 6 and older.
